Words That Are Pleasing to God
Written by Karli Hunt
Over the last few months, I have been meditating on this verse. What does it look
like for the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart to be pleasing to God? Does it mean to speak gently and more kind with the help of the Holy Spirit?
It is so easy to be super critical in my heart, and I am praying for the Lord to soften my
heart toward others and toward Him. My desire is to gaze upon His beauty and to inquire in His temple (Psalm 27:4). I want to praise His name all the days of my life (Psalm 146:2).
Where am I to run when I find myself being quick to speak and quick to be critical of
others? I am to turn to the One who is seated on the throne! I am to turn to the One who is my Rock and to the One who is able to redeem me from my sin.
As I seek to pray, serve, and share with my neighbors, my prayer has been that I would
have words flow from my mouth and heart that are pleasing to God. He is my Rock and
Redeemer.
