PASTOR EMERITUS

Jim is a native of Eustis, Florida and is very happily married to his wife Sylvia since 1960.  They have two children, Barby and Jimmy, and five grandchildren, all living in Durham, North Carolina. 

 

He served for 21 years in the U. S. Air Force and spent 10 years in the real estate field before answering the call of God for his next assignment. 

 

After graduating from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Jim served as senior pastor of Farrington Road Baptist Church in Chapel Hill for 18 years. 

 

Upon retiring, he has remained active, heading up the Intercessory Prayer Team of the church.  Jim is also interested in visitation, writing, traveling with family and friends, and occasional visits to the golf course.
