Chong-Ae serves as a part time Asst. Discipleship Director supporting Pastors and has been attending Waypoint since August 2025.

She’s passionate about helping others grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus, walking with them through life’s unexpected challenges and everyday decisions, while celebrating God’s work in their lives along the way.

Chong-Ae immigrated from Korea in high school, currently residing in Apex with her husband. She loves spending time with her family and has 2 adult children, daughter-in-law, soon to be first grandson and a puppy. She cherishes traveling internationally
experiencing the wonder of God’s amazing creation and tasting different cultures. For hobbies, she loves playing tennis as a spiritual practice, facilitating small groups, coaching, and mentoring, because these activities draw her closer to God.

Before transitioning to full-time ministry, she held various executive leadership roles across the marketplace and non-profit sector, such as General Motors, AARP, International Justice Mission and Dallas Theological Seminary.

A common thread throughout her journey has been a desire to help people grow into their God given potential. She is passionate about equipping Christian leaders to fulfill their purpose by increasing their awareness of how God has uniquely designed, formed and gifted them to lead in their specific context.

This passion is reflected in her doctoral dissertation at Dallas Theological Seminary, “An evaluation of strengths-based leadership coaching for improving leadership confidence, competency, and team performance in ministry.” Her research builds on years of experience coaching Christian leaders across a range of settings and industries, helping them maximize their strengths, experiences, and gifts to lead more effectively and find
joy.
