For Life

July 31, 2019

For those of you, who like me, are tired of everything being reduced to just two different viewpoints, I wanted to create a position that was not limited by party or affiliation. I believe this a gospel-centered view on the dignity of life that is not defined by being a Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal, majority or minority, old or young.

I am for the unborn Child.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.”

Psalm 139:13

I believe in the sanctity of life in the womb and that life needs to be protected, nurtured, and given a chance to live and thrive.

For more information and ways to get involved:

I am for the Refugee and Immigrant.

“He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.”

Deuteronomy 10:18-19

As we are currently in the largest refugee crisis in the world, I believe it is our duty to care for the foreigners, for we are also foreigners on this earth.

I am for the Orphan and Foster Child.

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”

James 1:27

I believe God has called us to be a father to the fatherless, just as He is father to us. I believe adoption is one of the greatest ways to model the gospel.

I am for the rights of women.

“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: ‘You are the God who sees me,’ for she said, ‘I have now seen the One who sees me.’”

Genesis 16:13

Through Jesus’ interactions with women, we see Jesus breaking cultural norms by treating women with dignity and respect, lifting women up, caring for their needs, and valuing their personhood.

I am for fighting against the systems of injustice that deny the dignity of man.

“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless,
 plead the widow's cause.”

Isaiah 1:17

It’s evident we live in a broken world, but God has called on us as His kingdom-advancers to fight against injustice and bring about His kingdom values on earth.

I am for Racial Equality.

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Galatians 3:28

I believe that the kingdom of God is composed of people from every tongue, tribe, and nation, with equal standing before God our king. I believe the reconciling work of bringing all people together starts here on earth.

I am for the worth of all God’s children, including those with disabilities and challenges.

“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith.”

Romans 12:4-6

I believe in the unique way in which God has made us, and I esteem all parts of God’s body.
