Wilderness Escape - Waypoint Vacation Bible School
Who’s ready for Waypoint’s Vacation Bible School?!
Read below for some details and a survey for you to complete to help us plan:
What: Wilderness Escape Backyard VBS at host homes – We’ll join Moses and the Israelites as they escape Egypt and wander through the desert toward the Promised Land. This will be a great callback to what we’ve been learning in Waypoint Kids and the Pentateuch! Our VBS will be a combination of everyone at each host home seeing each other on Zoom, pre-recorded videos for each home to watch together, and doing activities together as a host home.
When: July 27th-30th
Where: Outside at host homes with ~25 people (including adults) per home. Why not all together at church? We want to create environments where people feel safe to gather together, despite the current coronavirus situation. We hope having smaller groups outside will facilitate community and summer fun, while also decreasing risk for spreading the virus.
Who: Waypoint Kids families. Our VBS is designed to be a multi-generational experience, so we’d love for you to participate along with your child, though this is not required for your child to participate. Pre-registration will be required so that we can assign families to host homes.
Why: To engage kids with the story of Jesus, all while giving them a fun, safe summer activity!
To get this thing going, we need some information from you. Please complete this quick Google form to let us know your interest in having your child participate, being a volunteer, and/or being a host home. This is not the pre-registration, but is very important to give us preliminary planning numbers.
What does being a host home mean?
You will provide the outdoor space for approximately 25 people (including your family). We will provide all needed materials and volunteers. You’ll need an internet connection so we can do some Zooming together at the start and end of each night of VBS.
What does being a volunteer mean?
There will be many ways to use your strengths to help make our VBS run smoothly. Are you interested in leading kids in games? Or a craft? Leading the kids in worship? Are you good at storytelling? Are you a behind-the-scenes person? Maybe you can’t volunteer during VBS week, but could you be part of pre-recorded videos? There’s a spot for you!
